Stars come out for Worcester fund-raiser

Some of the leading players who helped Worcester Warriors climb from Midlands Two to the Premiership will be back in action at Sixways on Saturday May 14.

A Worcester Rugby Legends XV will take on Worcester Wanderers in a match to raise funds for the Wanderers tour to Worcester, Massachusetts seven days later.

Former internationals Thinus Delport, Mark Linnett, Alejandro Moreno, Craig Chalmers, Ben Hinshelwood and Dave Sims will be among those lining up for the legends which includes many well-known faces who features in Worcester’s rapid rise through the leagues during the 1990s.

They will be joined by Bruce Fenley, Tony Yapp, Duncan Hughes, Nnamde Ezulike, Nick Baxter, Duncan Roke, Neil Lyman, Tim Collier, Dan Zaltzman, Steve Lloyd, Nathan Carter, James Cockle, Mark Gabey, Lee Fortey, Adrian Olver, Jim Jenner, Ed Orgee, Tony Windo, Dean Ball and Gordy Houston against the Midlands One West club.

The match, which kicks-off at 3pm, will be followed by a Gala Dinner. Entry to the match is £3, tickets for the dinner cost £35.
