As the Official Watch of England Rugby, TAG Heuer together with Lewis Moody proudly announced England Rugby’s Medical Team as the very worthy recipients of TAG Heuer and England Rugby’s Unsung Heroes Award at Lewis Moody’s Book Launch – “Mad Dog an Englishman” – held at The May Fair Hotel last week in London. Mike Bundy, Team Doctor, Paul Frawley, Masseur, Phil Pask, Physiotherapist & Dan Lewindon, Physiotherapist, each were presented with a TAG Heuer watch in recognition of the infinite and invaluable support they continue to give to the England Rugby team.
From the beginning of its partnership with the RFU, TAG Heuer has been keen to support rugby in all its forms and so, TAG Heuer was thrilled to further its partnership with the RFU developing an award that would recognise the incredible support the England team receives on and off the pitch. To this end, TAG Heuer created a social media campaign which allowed England Rugby fans to engage with the team and, Lewis Moody more specifically, to share their thoughts on who they believed were the Unsung Heroes of England Rugby.
On the award Lewis Moody said, “Throughout my career I have had fantastic support from the England medical team and I am delighted to have the chance to thank some of them with the help of TAG Heuer and England Rugby’s Unsung Heroes Award. To describe the medical team as unsung heroes is fitting; these guys work tirelessly behind the scenes and are a hugely important part of the management group. I know without their hard work and continued efforts to get me right I wouldn’t have been able to achieve half the things I have in my England career. Mike Bundy, Paul Frawley, Dan Lewindon and Phil Pask were instrumental in getting me to the 2011 Rugby World Cup and supporting the full squad throughout an intense tournament, so it is with huge thanks that they receive the TAG Heuer and England Rugby’s Unsung Heroes Award.”
Rob Diver, Managing Director for LVMH Watch & Jewellery UK said, “We took the decision to support the RFU and Lewis Moody as their core values are very similar to TAG Heuer’s own - these include Teamwork, Respect, and Discipline. As such we were very keen to develop – with the RFU – an award that would further recognise the astounding Sportsmanship embodied not just by the players but also by the vast network that supports the team in every aspect throughout the year.”
