The Auckland Rydges Harbourview Hotel has become England’s designated fans' base throughout the tournament and the hotel management, with help from the England Rugby Travel staff, has pulled out all the stops to transform it into a Twickenham on tour.

A huge England flag lights up the entrance at night and the inside of the hotel is decked out with the red and white cross of St George that has created a real feeling that England fans are right in the centre of the tournament.

As Phil Vickery explains on his exclusive Auckland video diary for England Rugby Travel, this is a great venue.

“What a location and what a hotel,” says the former England prop. “There is no better rugby welcome in New Zealand than here at the Rydges Hotel in Auckland.

“It’s a great base to explore the city which is exactly what I did.”

As England fans have discovered, there is a piece of New Zealand that is forever England!
