Nottingham and Cornish Pirates get the weekend’s action underway when they clash at Meadow Lane on Friday night. Nottingham have lost their last four league games against the Pirates who, on Sunday, became the final side to lose their unbeaten tag when they went down to a home defeat to Bedford.
Plymouth and London Scottish enjoyed contrasting fortunes when they last met in league action in 1991/92. Scottish were crowned as Second Division champions that year, while Plymouth were relegated after finishing second from bottom.
The sides go into Saturday’s clash separated by just one place and two points in the Championship table.
Bedford Blues and Doncaster met on four occasions last term, with Blues winning the first three and The Knights the fourth: 33-31 at Goldington Road.

Also on Saturday, bottom plays second top as Esher entertain Bristol at Molesey Road, the setting for a shock 29-27 win for the Surrey outfit in last season’s corresponding fixture.
The day’s remaining game sees London Welsh entertain Rotherham. The home side prevailed in both games between the two sides last season.
On Sunday, Leeds face Moseley for the first time since their surprise 2009 EDF Energy National Trophy final defeat at the hands of the Birmingham outfit.
Moseley enjoyed one of the most memorable days in their recent history when they ran out 23-18 winners at Twickenham against the side that had just been crowned champions of the old National One.
