Delon Armitage one of ten Rugby World Cup debutants against Argentina
- Martin Johnson other change sees No.8 Nick Easter restored to the back row
Delon Armitage will make his Rugby World Cup debut on the left wing when England meet Argentina at the Otago Stadium in Dunedin on Saturday (2030 NZ, 0930 BST).
The London Irish back-three player, a try-scoring replacement against Ireland in Dublin a fortnight ago, is one of 10 players making their tournament bows in a team captained by Gloucester Rugby centre Mike Tindall.
In addition to Tindall, those starters with previous tournament experience are fly half Jonny Wilkinson, prop Andrew Sheridan, hooker Steve Thompson and No.8 Nick Easter.
Armitage will win his 23rd cap and takes over from Sale Sharks wing Mark Cueto, who is sidelined with a back complaint.
Team Manager Martin Johnson’s other change to his starting line-up sees Harlequins’ Easter return, which means James Haskell will move to open-side flanker, a position he occupied for the 2011 RBS 6 Nations.
There are also two changes on the bench, with Leicester Tigers scrum half Ben Youngs continuing his return from injury in place of Joe Simpson (London Wasps) and Northampton Saints flanker Tom Wood providing back row cover in place of Simon Shaw.
