Committed to advancing the tournament both on and off the field, the RFU Championship clubs are now leading the way with a new supporter initiative.
New for the 2011/12 season, Bristol Rugby, Esher, Doncaster Knights, Leeds Carnegie, London Welsh and Plymouth Albion will all be offering loyalty cards to their dedicated supporters.
Designed to reward supporters for their commitment to the clubs, the cards will be made available to all fans who will receive a unique Championship stamp in return for a ticket order. Once a specified number of stamps are collected, the card can then be exchanged for a range of benefits, such as a free match ticket or club shop discounts.*
The six clubs taking part in the new initiative have individually designed loyalty cards for their respective fans, which can only be used at the home ground of that club.
Great piece of proactive marketing - Leeds Carnegie
The new scheme comes only days after Sky Sports and the Rugby Football Union (RFU) announced additional bonus content of the competition for live broadcast fixtures, bringing supporters closer than ever before to the action.
New to the RFU Championship this season, Leeds Carnegie Head of Marketing Abigail Furniss commented on the new scheme:
“This is a great piece of proactive marketing that not only recognises and rewards fan loyalty but also encourages it. It’s good to see league wide initiatives such as these in the RFU Championship that give clubs some real practical support in boosting attendances and merchandise sales.”
The RFU Championship will also be moving into social media with its own official Twitter page to keep supporters up to date with the latest happenings across the league. Simply follow @RFUChampionship.
*The benefits on offer are subject to the individual clubs. Please contact your respective club for more information
