The Army opened this season’s Babcock Inter Services Championship with a crushing 59-0 win over the RAF at RAF Halton.
Wing Semesa Rokoduguni led the way with four tries as the Army proved why they are the International Defence Rugby Champions.
The Army prepared for the tournament with a narrow defeat by Northampton Saints in the Mobbs Memorial Match and a training camp in Portugal where they drew 31-31 with a Newcastle Falcons XV.
Dean Richards, who will take charge as Newcastle’s director of rugby in August, was in the crowd at RAF Halton for the Inter-Services opener.
The Inter Services Championship continues on April 18 when the Royal Navy host the RAF at Burnaby Road in Portsmouth at 7pm.
The finale to the tournament is the Army v Navy Babcock Trophy match at Twickenham Stadium on April 28.
