Daily Mail RBS Schools news from the Midlands

17 December 2012

  • King’s, Worcester march on in Under 18 Cup
  • Warwick mount twin assault on Twickenham

King’s School, Worcester are through to the last 16 of the Daily Mail RBS Schools Under 18 Cup for the second consecutive season.

King's were beaten by Old Swinford Hospital in last season's semi-finals at Broadstreet but they avenged that defeat this time around by ousting their local rivals in the fourth round.

They followed up with a 19-5 win over Norwich School in this week's fifth round and will now entertain Northampton School for Boys in the last 16 in a tie that is due to be played on January 16.

Canada Under 17 flanker George Jeavons-Fellows was among the try scorers as King's booked their passage to the sixth round.

In the other half of the Midlands draw Warwick School, who won the competition in 2007, will host Stamford School.

Warwick are also through to the last 16 of the Daily Mail RBS Schools Under 15 Cup where they will travel to play the winners of the Stowe School v Bedford School sixth round tie.

Bromsgrove School will have home advantage against Berkhamsted School in the other tie for a place in the quarter-finals.

King's School, Grantham, who are in the North section of the draw, are also through to the Under 15 Cup last 16 and will be at home to either QEGS Wakefield or Altrincham GS.
