England Students have named their squad of 22 heading to Lisbon to play Portugal on Saturday, January 28, with team manager Steven Colwell saying that the team are focussed on avenging last season’s defeats.

The team fly out to Portugal on Wednesday and will spend three days preparing for the match at Estadio Universitario.

Colwell said: “The team are focussed on overturning two successive defeats against Portugal last season, and they have prepared well.

“There is an exciting mix of talent and experience from across the country and will be captained by Exeter’s Tom Sargeant who played in the losing team last year.

“Several players have been capped before with Josh Beaumont adding to his England Counties honours alongside returning Students Sargeant, Louis Messer and rising England Sevens player Dan Bibby”
