VIDEO - Walker reflects on what could have been

  • England Under 20 captain Chris Walker reflects
  • To sum it up, we're gutted – Walker

On the back of England Under 20’s disappointing 28-15 loss to South Africa in Cape Town, captain Chris Walker says that he’s gutted by the result, but accepts that there are two massive games left to play.

England will now play Ireland in the fifth place semi-final, where a showdown against either France or Australia could await.

Walker said: “I wish we had beaten South Africa and moved on into the semi finals but that’s in the past now. We’ve got to move on and look forward to playing Ireland.

“We had a lapse of concentration for ten minutes and that’s when they scored their points. You have to give them credit for the way they played, so fair play to them.

“Everyone was very despondent in the changing room after the game, it was very quiet, but I think that just shows what it means to everyone.”
