Lancaster's appointment has proved to be a popular choice and the man himself is looking to build on the successful RBS 6 Nations campaign.

"My priority throughout the Six Nations was to get the team to play with pride and passion,” he said. “It's great that we are heading in a direction that the fans are willing to follow, that makes me very proud, and we want to continue going that way.

“Walking around the stadium after the Ireland game was a great experience, the fans were amazing and the team deserved that for all their hard work, as a coach those are the moments you live for.”
