- Barrow, Arnott, Hankin, Harriott and Collins with scores
England Under 19 38 France Under 19 7
A strong England Under 19 side beat France 38-7 at Broadstreet Rugby Club in Coventry with tries from Dominic Barrow, Jack Arnott, Matt Hankin, Danny Herriott and two from Tom Collins the difference.
Fly half henry Slade added six points with the boot and dictated the back line well in first appearance in an England shirt since injuring his knee in the Under 20 Six Nations match against Italy in February.
England’s first try from Barrow came after a strong maul early on and the second score soon followed, wing Arnott turned on the gas to outrun the French defence to go over the line. A bullet pass from Slade set-up Hankin for England’s third try to make the score 19-0 at the break.
Full back Tom Collins scored England’s fourth try ten minutes into the second half, showing good pace to beat his man and Saints prop Danny Herriott made the score 31-0 when he went over for the fifth.
France got their only try of the game with ten minutes left to play, a well worked cross field kick was gathered to make it 31-7 but Collins got his second of the afternoon minutes later to round off the scoring at 38-7.
