Structure of Midlands Leagues confirmed

  • Malvern level-transferred to South West
  • Sandbach and Northwich brought into Midlands Leagues

The Midlands Leagues structure for the 2012/13 season has been confirmed.

The major changes see Malvern moved from National Three Midlands to National Three South West with Sandbach level transferred into SSE National Three Midlands from the North.

Ampthill & District return to SSE National Three Midlands from the equivalent league in London & SE.

Northwich have also been level transferred into the Midlands from the North and will compete in Midlands One West. Luton have been level transferred to London & SE from Midlands One East.

Manchester, who were relegated from National Three Midlands this season, have returned to the North.

The other level transfers are at level seven in the league pyramid, with Silhillians moving to Midlands Two West (North) from Midlands Two West (South) and Nuneaton OE switching from Midlands Two East (North) to Midlands Two East (South).

Hereford-based Greyhound will compete in Midlands Five West (South) next season having opted to rejoin the Midlands Leagues after a spell in the Gloucestershire Leagues.

Three more clubs – Bingham, Bourne and North Hykeham – have rejoined the leagues and will compete in Midlands Five East (North) next season.

Keresley, who withdrew from Midlands Three West (South) midway through this season will rejoin the leagues in Midlands Four West (South) next season.

National Three Midlands: Ampthill & District, Bournville, Broadstreet, Derby, Hinckley, Longton, Mansfield, Newport, Nuneaton, Sandbach, Scunthorpe, South Leicester, Sutton Coldfield, Syston.

Midlands One West: Barkers’ Butts, Berkswell & Balsall, Burton, Camp Hill, Hereford, Lichfield, Ludlow, Northwich, Old Halesonians, Stoke, Stratford, Walsall, Whitchurch, Worcester Wanderers.

Midlands One East: Bedford Athletic, Ilkeston, Kettering, Loughborough, Market Bosworth, Market Rasen & Louth, Matlock, Newark, Old Northamptonians, Paviors, Peterborough, Peterborough Lions, Spalding, Towcestrians.

Midlands Two West (North): Aston OE, Bridgnorth, Leek, Lordswood Dixonians, Moseley Oak, Old Saltleians, Silhillians, Spartans, Stafford, Tamworth, Veseyans, Wolverhampton.
