Five Midlands players have been included in the British Police squad for the Police International against Ireland at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on December 5 (5pm).

Nottinghamshire Police lock Llyr Griffiths, who plays club rugby for Nuneaton in National Three Midlands, has been named in the squad along with four players who helped West Midlands Police win the British Police Cup last season.

Fifteen different police forces are represented in the 26-man squad which was selected after a British Police XV was beaten 30-27 by West Midlands Police in a trial match at Tally Ho! in Birmingham last month.
