- Scunthorpe to host Under 16 showpiece
- Selectors out in force again
Players from all six Midlands counties will get the opportunity to compete for inclusion in this season's Midlands Under 16 squad when the second Super Sunday tournament is staged at Scunthorpe’s Heslam Park ground on Sunday November 18.
Three matches will be played during a busy day of youth rugby which will again allow all players to be seen and graded by the Midlands selectors in the same place on the same day.
All Midlands counties have so far played two matches each including one in last weekend’s first Super Sunday event at Luctonians RFC in Herefordshire.
The Scunthorpe tournament will start at 11am with Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire playing Warwickshire in the opening match.
North Midlands will play East Midlands at 1pm with Leicestershire’s match against Staffordshire closing proceedings at 3pm.
The Midlands trial will take place on December 16 after which the Midlands selectors will announce a squad to prepare for the Development Weekend at Broadstreet RFC near Coventry from February 1-3.
