- Gloucestershire club receives prestigious RFU award
- Chosen Hill Former Pupils RFC meet all the standards
Chosen Hill Former Pupils RFC has been awarded the Rugby Football Union’s prestigious Club Accreditation Award.
The Gloucestershire club will be presented with its award on October 21 at its Brookfield Road Clubhouse in Churchdown. Gloucestershire RFU President Peter Williams, accompanied by RFU Community Rugby Coach Stuart Bradfield, will present Chosen Hill FP RFC with its award.
Chosen Hill FP RFC has been working hard to achieve all the organisational standards to meet the rigorous RFU award and RFU South West Area Development Manager Don Parsons has witnessed the amount of hard work that has gone into development at the club.
“Chosen Hill is only the second club in the Gloucester City area to attain this award, which is a result of all the hard work and commitment at the club”, he said.
“It has a large and growing Mini and Junior section, has carried out some major club alteration works to cope with the demand using club volunteers and has ambitious plans for the future.
“The club is keen to provide a better rugby experience for all of its members, and the RFU Accreditation takes it one step closer.”
Chosen Hill Chairman, Phil King, said: “Over recent years the club has developed a hugely successful Mini and Junior Section and having continued to regularly field three teams at Senior level we wanted to progress to the RFU Club Accreditation Scheme so we enlisted the help of Don Parsons and with his help and guidance we have now achieved our latest target.
“The award shows that we are our committed to rugby development in Gloucestershire and demonstrates to the local community that we are a well-run club where enjoyment in a safe environment is a key feature and where everyone is welcome to take part."
King added: “The award is good news for all our members and players and confirms that membership of Chosen Hill FP RFC means they belong to a well organised and progressive family club.”
To gain the RFU’s Club Accreditation, clubs are assessed by the RFU and must demonstrate evidence of good practice in areas such as club management, player development and recruitment, child protection, sports equity, coaching, refereeing and volunteering.
