RFU launches new look video platform RFUtv

The Rugby Football Union (RFU) today re-launched RFUtv, the home for all RFU video content, after an overhaul of the platform.

The new version will enhance the experience for fans, giving people more ways to view video and will put the user firmly in charge. The RFUtv platform is sponsored by O2 and houses the flagship programme ‘O2 Inside Line’. All content can now be viewed at

Using the same easy to use format as YouTube, all videos will be tagged, allowing fans to quickly and simply search for the content they want to watch.

Fans can now choose from a variety of viewing options, giving people a more personalised experience, including in mosaic format, gallery view, or through a playlist. All of the videos will have added functionality so fans can share their favourite videos with their friends through their social networks, such as Facebook or Twitter.

RFUtv will feature action from across the whole game, with more English rugby content available than anywhere else. Videos will include tunnel cam, match day highlights, as well as the latest player interviews, and coaching tips.

The popular magazine show O2 Inside Line, with exclusive behind the scenes footage from the England camp, will be back for a third new series during the upcoming QBE Internationals and will get fans even closer to the England Rugby team through RFUtv.

It will remain the home of exclusive England content, but with a very different look and feel. Our ambition is to continue to grow the platform, representing the whole game – from community clubs and coaches, right through to showcasing the greatest rugby moments of all time.”

The RFUtv platform and videos have been designed to work on desktops, tablets and smartphones so that England fans can keep up to date and entertained whatever device they're using.

The RFU also announced today that it has entered into a new partnership with YouTube. This will allow the RFU to build on an already successful YouTube channel, by providing added functionality to promote existing video content to a broader audience, as well as maximising the exposure of its bank of archive footage.
