- Northampton Saints’ Calum Clark to have operation on right shoulder AC joint
- Injury suffered during Heineken Cup defeat to Glasgow Warriors on Sat
Northampton Saints flanker Calum Clark will undergo an operation tomorrow, following an injury sustained to the AC joint in his right shoulder during the first half of last Saturday’s Heineken Cup defeat to Glasgow Warriors.
The uncapped 23-year-old will have his rehabilitation managed by the Northampton Saints medical and performance staff at Franklin’s Gardens in conjunction with the England medical team.
England Head Coach Stuart Lancaster said: “It is a shame for Calum as he had worked hard to get back into the senior squad. But these things happen and our medics will work closely with Northampton on his rehab.”
Saracens lock Mouritz Botha is training with England for the five-day training camp in Leeds.
At this pre-operation stage it is too early to speculate as to when he will return to action.
