Experts out in force at Midlands Conference

  • England Sevens coach Earnshaw to speak at Midlands Conference
  • Conference open to all players, coaches and referees

Russell Earnshaw, assistant coach of the England Sevens team, will be one of the headline speakers at the Midlands Conference at Eastwood Hall in Nottingham on July 27 and 28.

Earnshaw, former director of rugby at Birmingham & Solihull, will run two sessions on the second day of the conference starting with Winning the Contact with Tackle Technique followed by Lessons from the Season.

Other speakers include Matt Ferguson, Bristol’s forwards coach, who will start the conference with a session on Get Set for Scrum Time.

Roy Headey, the RFU Head of Sports Science, will run a session on Boxing for Rugby on July 27 with Stuart Armstrong, the RFU Player Pathways Manager, kicking off the Sunday programme with a session on Talent Identification and Development; Implications for Coaches.

The conference is open to all coaches, referees and players and costs £150 for two days, including food and accommodation, or £70 per day, which includes lunch.
