England Women U20 will look to put the disappointment of their opening Nations Cup defeat to South Africa behind them when they take on Canada at Trent College, Long Eaton on Sunday, kick off 5pm.

Head Coach Amanda Bennett has named her team for the game, and Kayleigh Callaway-Bawden will again captain the side against the Canadians, who won their first game against USA 25-15.

Bennett said: “There’s a big rivalry between Canada and USA so they would have been delighted to get the win. By all accounts it was a hard-fought match and they will be full of confidence when they play us on Sunday.

“But this is a new game and in many ways what has happened previously will have little bearing – what’s gone is gone and we’ll be looking to perform as well as we can. The squad were disappointed with the result against South Africa but you cannot fault the effort – some of our players played up to and beyond their limits and that’s what we want to see.

“By kick off on Sunday we’ll be fully motivated and fully focused on the game in hand – we’ve got nothing to lose.”
