RFU Cup and Vase competition first-round draws announced

  •  Draws released for RFU Intermediate Cup, Senior Vase and Junior Vase first rounds
  • Old Yardleians to travel to Shrewsbury

Old Yardleians, last season’s Midlands Junior Vase winners, have been drawn away to Shrewsbury in the first round of next season’s RFU Senior Vase.

Old Yardleians beat Harbury to win the regional Junior Vase last March but were then beaten by Bradford club Baildon in the national semi-finals of the RFU Junior Vase.

Old Yardleians will return to the Senior Vase next season having won the Midlands Four West (South) league title.

Stourbridge Lions, who won the Midlands Senior Vase, have also been promoted and they will compete in next season’s RFU Intermediate Cup.

They have been given a bye through the first round, which will be played on September 28.

Old Leamingtonians, who were beaten by Stourbridge Lion in the Midlands Senior Vase final, will also compete in the Intermediate Cup next season and they have been drawn at home to Bridgnorth in the first round.
