RFU head groundsman to visit Midllands

Keith Kent, the RFU head groundsman at Twickenham Stadium, will be visiting Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire, East Midlands, Warwickshire and Leicestershire next week.

Kent, who has been in charge of the hallowed turf at Twickenham since September 2002, will run workshops on end of season pitch care at Market Harborough RFC on March 12 and Broadstreet RFC near Coventry on March 13. Both workshops will run from 7pm to 9pm and are free to all clubs.

Kent will also offer advice to club groundsmen on a busy schedule during his three-day visit to the region which will include: Lincoln, Kesteven, Nottingham Moderns and Melton Mowbray on March 12, Kettering, Northampton Old Scouts, Barkers’ Butts and Coventrians on March 13 and Nuneaton OE, Coventry, Brackley and Ampthill on March 14.

Kent was previously head groundsman at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium following on from 17 years working at Leicester City FC.
