08 May 2013

  • Leeds University will return to defend title
  • Club will also run a charity invitational tournament

Leicestershire club Ashby will celebrate the tenth anniversary of their popular sevens tournament on Saturday, May 11.

Last year’s winners Leeds University will be back to defend their title against specialist sevens teams from across the country, an English Colleges side and a team from Barbados.

The tournament has been generously supported by Vision Express and Crestline printers allowing Ashby to put up an attractive prize fund.

Alongside the invitational tournament Ashby will run a new tournament aimed at local sides.

Proceeds will go to the Derbyshire Leicestershire Rutland Air Ambulance.

The gates will open at 10.30am ahead of the first matches at 11am and there will be a beer festival with beers from the local Blythe Brewery, Tollgate Brewery, Shardlow Brewery and Leatherbritches Brewery as well as a barbecue, bouncy castle and live band.
