England Saxon Elliot Daly has been added to the illustrious Barbarians squad that will face England at Twickenham this weekend before flying out to Hong Kong to play against Warren Gatland’s British and Irish Lions.

The 20 year-old London Wasps utility back was one of six names to be incorporated into the 28-man group on Friday alongside Saracens' Schalk Brits, Exeter Chiefs' former Wallaby Dean Mumm, Italian prop Andrea Lo Cicero, Fiji wing Timoci Nagusa and Northampton Saints’ Samu Manoa.

They will link up with an already impressive pool of players, including the likes of Italy skipper Sergio Parisse, former Lion James Hook and prolific New Zealand wing Joe Rokocoko.

Daly, a promising product of the England age-group system who was called up by Stuart Lancaster as injury cover during the 2013 RBS 6 Nations, joins clubmate Sam Jones and Ulster full back Jared Payne to become the third uncapped member of the party.

And after an exceptional season for Wasps that featured five tries in 22 Aviva Premiership appearances – earning an England Saxons call-up for matches against Ireland Wolfhounds and Scotland A – he is likely to feature for the invitational side this Sunday as Lancaster looks to secure a winning send-off for England ahead of their own two-Test, three-game trip to South America.

Speaking after the announcement, Barbarians tour manager Derek Quinnell said: "We are very pleased with the final composition and strength of the squad.

"Obviously because of play-off finals in Ireland and England on 25 May a handful of players will not be available for the first match against England but we have covered that by inviting 28 players.

"We also believe there is a healthy balance between proven Test experience and promising young talent who will benefit enormously from the experience."

With a number of players in his 32-man summer tour squad in Aviva Premiership Final action on Saturday, Lancaster will announce a revised squad for the Barbarians game at 5pm.

Tickets are available for England vs Barbarians at Twickenham Stadium on May 26, priced at £40 and £25 for adults and £10 for juniors.
