James Lindfield’s first England Counties cap is finally in sight as he is named in the squad to tour Belgium from June 8-17.
The Blackheath flanker travelled with the England Counties to Kenya and Uganda last summer but departed early after being ruled out with injury.
Jim Wigglesworth (Yorkshire), who recently returned from Georgia with the Counties U20s, and Chris Wearmouth (Durham) are the only other remaining African tourists and are among eleven players who have previous England Counties’ experience.
A total of 13 counties and 20 clubs will be represented when the squad play a Belgium President’s Select in Brussels on Wednesday 12 June before the Test against Belgium on Sunday 16 June in Tubize.
All but one place has been confirmed in the 26 man squad, with the final player to be selected following the finals this Sunday – County Championship Plate (9.30am), Bill Beaumont Cup (3.15pm) and County Championship Shield (5.15pm).

Supporters who are at Twickenham for England v Barbarians could see up to eleven of the tour squad running out in the day’s other matches as the North Midlands play Northumberland and Lancashire take on Cornwall before Cumbria round off the day against Surrey.
England Counties Team Manager, Michael Old said: “This squad contains a broad range of players as more than ever, individuals have put their hands up for inclusion through outstanding performances in this year’s County Championship. It was impossible to overlook the talent available and it will be great to see a number of players in action at Twickenham this weekend.
“We are taking a very young side to Belgium but it offers exciting outside backs with genuine pace and has experience at half-back and in the forwards with players such as Blaydon’s Robbie Kalbraier and hooker Matt Hall who is among England Counties most capped. There is a great balance and the coaches are looking forward to what this squad can achieve in Belgium.”
