Island-born Man of Steel superstar Henry Cavill has become Jersey Rugby Football Club’s newest member and season ticket holder.

While getting to every match may be quite challenging since he is currently filming, Cavill is hopeful of attending St. Peters as many times as possible over the course of this season, which kicks off on Sunday September 15 against Plymouth Albion at Sandy Park as part of 1 Big Rugby Weekend.

The latest man to play Superman is an avid rugby fan and, after watching Jersey play Leicester Tigers in their pre-season fixture at St. Peter a few weeks ago, he has decided to nail his colours to the mast.

The team are currently completing their final preparations before the start of their 2013/14 Greene King IPA Championship campaign and now – with some welcome superpowers behind them – expectation is growing.

Cavill, who is in production for his latest film The Man from Uncle, has even made the greatest display of JRFC support by purchasing the a new first team replica shirt.

Season tickets, membership and the new Jersey RFC home and alternative strips are now available from the Club Shop at St. Peter (Opening times: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 10am-1pm plus match-days).
