- Rowntree heads to the West Midlands to demonstrate the new scrum engagement
- Watch Old Leamingtonians RFC get put through their paces by England forwards coach
Last week, England forwards coach Graham Rowntree headed to Old Leamingtonians RFC in Warwickshire to demonstrate the new scrum engagement laws with the help of some willing local players.
An advocate of the RFU's Scrum Factory programme, the former England and British & Irish Lions loosehead prop revisited the scene of his own successful Midlands Under 19 trial in the distant past to clarify the crouch-bind-set sequence that has come into the game at all levels from the start of this season.
Over the 2012/3 campaign, 4,432 coaches and players passed through a Scrum Factory course – which is supported by Marsh, official insurance broker to the RFU – with May of this year alone seeing more than 500 participants.
Watch the video to get an insight on Rowntree’s considerable expertise at set-piece and to see how Old Leamingtonians got on with the Test rugby guru.
