To ramp up the countdown to the Marriott London Sevens on May 10 and 11 and this year’s Monster fancy dress theme, England Rugby has kicked off a monster competition by transforming a selection of England Sevens players into 3D monster avatars.
Fans have the chance to get involved in the Monster Takeover by looking out for the avatars which can be spotted across all England Rugby channels – among stories, videos, pictures, tweets and Facebook posts as well as on partner websites. They may be tricky to find but there are monster prizes on offer.
Entering the competition is easy; once you spot the avatar, click on it and you will be asked to enter a few details about yourself to be in with a chance of winning top prizes. Weekend passes for the winner and nine friends to the Marriott London Sevens are on offer, as well as a new Canterbury England Sevens shirt to be released later this month, a £100 Angels fancy dress voucher so you and your mates can get kitted out for the monster theme and pairs of weekend passes to the London tournament next month. Every avatar has a prize.
The monster avatars were inspired by each player’s personality off the pitch and rugby skills on it. Mike Ellery’s distinctive hair can be seen, with Dan Norton’s feet on fire from his lightning speed and James Rodwell’s monster sized hands.
The Monster Takeover starts today with seven avatars in total released over the next few weeks. Fans can enter once for each monster but as it will appear on a number of sites, it doesn’t matter where you find it – just click on the avatar to enter.
The competition runs until April 24, 2014 and the winner of the prize associated with each monster avatar will then be drawn at random. Terms and conditions can be found here.
