A 33-man England squad reported back to Pennyhill Park this evening to prepare for Saturday’s RBS 6 Nations match against Scotland at Murrayfield.

Gloucester Rugby wing Jonny May suffered a fracture to his nose in the opening minutes of the 26-24 defeat to France in Paris and will see a specialist tomorrow for further assessment.

The 23 year-old remains with the squad decision on his availability for selection for the match in Edinburgh will be made following that examination.

Lock Courtney Lawes, titanic in the tight and the loose during the agonising loss at the Stade de France, suffered a bruised cheekbone but there is no structural damage and will be available for selection.

After successive starts at No.10 for England Saxons against O2 Ireland Wolfhounds and Scotland A, Freddie Burns links back up with the group.

Under the Elite Player Squad agreement and with a full schedule of Aviva Premiership action this coming weekend, fly half Stephen Myler (Northampton Saints), hooker Rob Webber (Bath Rugby) and scrum half Richard Wigglesworth (Saracens) remain with their clubs after two weeks training with England.
