Captain Kelly Brown has been omitted from Scotland's match day 23 for Saturday's Calcutta Cup clash with England at Murrayfield (kick-off 5pm).

The Saracens flanker is replaced by Glasgow Warriors' Chris Fusaro, who will win his first cap at open-side flanker.

Head coach Scott Johnson has made three changes in total to Saturday's starting side, with Tommy Seymour coming in for the injured Sean Maitland and Matt Scott featuring at inside centre as Duncan Taylor drops to the bench.

Johnson has also wielded the axe in the replacements. Newcastle Falcons hooker Scott Lawson is included in place of Pat MacArthur and Jonny Gray is also named on the bench. Elder brother and British and Irish Lion Richie drops out of the squad completely.

Edinburgh scrum half Greig Laidlaw takes over the captaincy in Brown's absence.
