England fell to a narrow 16-15 defeat when the two sides met in last season’s competition, and Itoje is well aware of the threat the men from the Emerald Isle will pose.
“They’re big and they’re aggressive,” he said. “They’ll have some strong runners, but our job is to match and surpass that.”
Packman, making his first Under 20 start, says that the game will be extra special as it’s on his home ground – Franklin’s Gardens.
“It can’t get much bigger for me,” he admitted. “There’s a lot of excitement, maybe a few nerves, but I’m excited and I just want to go out there and give it my best shot. We’ve trained well this week and we can’t wait to get out there.”
