England’s RBS 6 Nations squad reported back to Pennyhill Park this evening, with Freddie Burns remaining with the England Saxons group ahead of their game against Scotland A next Friday.

There are no changes, with the same 35 players from last week's training camp preparing to face Les Blues at the Stade de France in the RBS 6 Nations opener on Saturday.

The England Saxons squad to play against Scotland A in Scotstoun, Glasgow on Friday will meet at Loughborough University tomorrow evening (Monday) and be announced at 6pm

Gloucester Rugby fly half Burns, who started the Saxons’ 14-8 defeat to O2 Ireland Wolfhounds on Saturday and is part of the England Senior Elite Player Squad, has the opportunity to get more game time, as head coach Stuart Lancaster explained.

He said: “We feel Freddie will benefit by staying with the Saxons. It allows him more game time and it provides continuity in the squad as they prepare to face Scotland A."
