- England U20 captain Callum Braley ready for JWC challenge
- Focus is on preparing well for that first game – Braley
As England Under 20 build for the IRB Junior World Championship in Auckland, captain Callum Braley says that preparation is going well ahead of their opening game against Italy on June 2.
The squad had their first session on their second day in New Zealand and Braley said that the guys were just pleased to get ball in hand.

He said: “It was a long journey, but it was pretty pain-free, and although a few of the boys are finding the jet-lag tough but we’re getting there and it’s been good to play some rugby – even though it was a pretty light session.”
“We’ve got a while before that first game, so we want to get some good training in – it’s up to us to drive the standards and make sure we’re as well prepared as we possibly can be. The games come thick and fast and it’s important for the boys who have played in the JWC before to lead and pass on the knowledge.
“Only one of the guys [Alex Lundberg] has been to New Zealand before so it’s a new experience for most of us and we’re just enjoying being here.”
