Midlands Leagues structure for 2014/15 confirmed

25 May 2014

  • Church Stretton join leagues
  • Worcester Wanderers back in Midlands Leagues

Church Stretton, one of the newest clubs in the Midlands, will enter the Midlands Leagues structure next season.

Church Stretton RFC was formed by rugby enthusiasts in the Shropshire town last year and played their first match last August.

They have become members of the Shropshire RFU and North Midlands RFU and, encouraged by a season of playing friendly matches, they will enter the league structure in Midlands Five West (North) next season.

Lincolnshire club Barton & District have re-entered the leagues after several seasons of playing social rugby and they will compete in Midlands Five East (North).

Worcester Wanderers will return to the Midlands Leagues next season after a season in the South West. They were relegated from National Three South West last month and will play in Midlands One West next season.

Other changes to the Midlands Leagues structure see Leighton Buzzard level-transferred from the Midlands to South West One (East).

Kidderminster Carolians and Stourbridge Lions have also been level-transferred from Midlands Two West (South) to Midlands Two West (North).

Five Ways OE have been geographically transferred from Midlands Four West (North) to Midlands Four West (South).
