England Sevens
The England Sevens squad tour the world on the annual HSBC Sevens World Series, exciting crowds with tries galore in the fast-paced, high-octane, abridged form of the game.
Under head coach Ben Ryan, England will compete in nine events starting on the Gold Coast in Australia (November 25-26) and taking in tournaments in Dubai, Port Elizabeth, Wellington, Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Edinburgh and London. The final leg is at Twickenham on May 12-13 2012.
They also compete in the IRB Rugby World Cup Sevens, the Commonwealth Games and the summer FIRA AER European GP Sevens Series. Sevens becomes an Olympic sport in the 2016 Rio games so these are exciting times for both players and fans.

A spectacular spree of 52 tries, an England record, in the IRB 2012-13 World Series has swept Dan Norton, the top touchdown maker in the tournament this season, into second place behind Ben Gollings (220) in the list of England’s top all-time scorers. He has run in 127 overall to overtake Richard Haughton (106), Rob Thirlby (101) and former captain Simon Amor (71).

Scoring a debut try in the 2004 Paris Sevens with his first touch of the ball against Canada hallmarked Leeds-born Rob Vickerman as a player to watch. He has now scored 25 tries in 28 tournaments. They include one that helped England to beat France 29-12 in the Cup final in Dubai in December 2011 and two, against South Africa and hosts Hong Kong, in March this year when his side lifted the Bowl.
