Former England U20 wing Mark Odejobi signed a full-time England Sevens contract in the summer of 2012. Odejobi – nicknamed Oddjob – made his debut in Las Vegas in February 2011 and also featured in Hong Kong and Adelaide before being sidelined by injury.
He was back for the Glasgow event in May last year only to suffer a further setback with a broken bone in a foot during the 40-7 win against Kenya. Mark returned from that injury to the Redingensians squad to face Malvern in National Three South West in February this year.
Mark reappeared in England Sevens colours in the RWC tournament in Moscow this June after a 13-months absence.
London-born, he was educated at Dulwich College and Millfield, won the Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens twice with the Somerset-based school, and is studying Mathematics and Computing at Brunel University.
He represented England at U16, U18 and U20 levels, winning a Six Nations Grand Slam in 2008 and started that year's Junior World Championship final alongside future full caps Alex Corbisiero, Alex Goode and Ben Youngs.
Mark was with London Wasps from 2006-10, spending time on loan with Henley and London Scottish before joining Championship club Esher.
He switched from the wing to the back row in the 15-a-side game and operates as a hooker in Sevens.
His leisure time centres on reading “good historical novels and doing Maths homework. That’s not so much a hobby but I spend a lot of time doing it. I love the Discovery TV channel but UKTV Food is possibly the greatest one ever.”
