Profile

A newcomer to Bath Rugby Academy last July, Ollie Devoto made his England U20 debut off the bench for Jack Arnott in the 40-10 win over France at Sixways, Worcester last February and went on to start at full back against Italy and Wales, when his side clinched the Six Nations title at Colwyn Bay.

He had played in a pre-season friendly for Bath against London Welsh, has appeared in the Amlin Challenge Cup and LV= Cup and made his first Premiership start against Exeter Chiefs last December. His initial match in the competition was against London Wasps last September.

Yeovil-born, he was educated at the Gryphon School, Sherborne and Bryanston at Blandford and played for Sherborne RFC from 2000-09. Ollie represented Dorset & Wiltshire U16 and U18, the South West U16 side and the England U19 development team and hopes to begin studies at Bath University in September.

His representative honours grew from his formative years when being coached by his father Steve, a Dorset & Wilts centre, at Sherborne while James Gower at Gryphon and Bryanston first team coaches Mike Pyrgos and Andy Marriott were important influences. Since then, Bath Academy coaches Danny Grewcock and Dave Williams have guided his progress.

Tours have taken him to Ireland with the South West U16 squad, to Biarritz with Sherborne at that age level and Australia and Fiji with Bryanston. Other special facets of the game for Ollie were his first home start at the Recreation Ground, his favourite arena, against Newport Gwent Dragons in the LV= Cup and his enjoyment in watching his top players Dan Carter, Nick Abendanon and Rodrigo Roncero.
