After six seasons with Basingstoke Rugby Club, Francesca made the move to join Richmond. But with five games under her belt for the England Under 20s so far, she puts her success down to her days at Basingstoke RFC and her dad. She started at the age of 12 and, as a keen supporter of Harlequins, there's no surprise that she's a big admirer of England Captain, Chris Robshaw.
A number eight who also plays in the second row, she appears to be, like Robshaw, a leader, having captained Basingstoke under 15s, Basingstoke under 18s and Hampshire under 18s.
After attending St Mary’s Junior School and The Costello School, both in Basingstoke, she's found her way to St Mary’s University to do Sports Rehabilitation and it was there where her funniest moment in rugby came when she was playing fly-half for her university side and almost scored from a chip and chase.
Her most memorable game, however, was when on tour in Colorado, America in the Nations Cup - she played her first full 80 minutes at Number 8 for England Under 20s versus Canada.
If she could have any job in the world, she'd like to work as a rehabilitator in the military rehabilitation unit.
