Continuous Professional Development
More informal support is available for officials in the form of Referee Education Evenings, covering such topics as managing the scrum, the tackle/ruck area and principles of refereeing in two-hour sessions.
Delivered by Club Referee Developers (CRefDs), the courses are part of a commitment to the support and training of club referees who want to improve their knowledge of the game.
The events are also open to players and coaches wishing to gain an insight into how referees approach different aspects of the game.
The RFU has recently recruited more CRefDs, whose role is to deliver modules of the Continuous Referee Development Award (CRDA) to club referees.
The modules last approximately two hours each and cost £5 per delegate.
