Due to the previous successes of the BUCS/RFU National Student 7s events, we’ve added new venues and dates to the calendar to enable a greater number of social and qualifying teams to participate.

An absolute must on the student rugby playing and social calendar, the competition attracts the top women’s and men’s teams from around the country as well as social teams of all levels.

The competition is being backed by England Sevens Head coach Ben Ryan, who said: "It’s an exciting time now that sevens is an Olympic Sport. These student events are a really important part of player development for England Sevens. Simon Hunt is a classic case as he represented England Students in 1999, 2000 and 2001 while studying at St Mary’s University in Teddington, London and England Under 21s and Great Britain Sevens.

"I would encourage any student to take part in these events, even if you don’t aspire to play at a higher level – sevens is all about getting out there and playing to showboat your skills and have fun.  For those teams who do qualify I look forward to seeing you at the Finals Day at Preston.”

Teams will be competing for the BUCS Championship Trophy.
