Rob Linthwaite

Getting up close & personal with Rob Linthwaite

What made you want to be part of the NYC ?

I have been involved with rugby since I can remember and it has brought me some great opportunities. I wanted share this with the top level to ensure many more young people get to experience it.

What do you want to achieve by being involved?

I would like to see more people getting involved in rugby union and game getting even better for young people to play. I am really keen that the RFU listens to what we have to say and as a group we can have a big impact. I am also hoping to work in sport so hopefully the experience will help my career going forward.

Why did you get involved in rugby union?

Through my local club Keyworth, mainly through my family going down there on a regular basis.

How are you involved in the RU?

Now my main involvement is through refereeing. I referee within NLD at Level 8 in both youth and senior games. Occasionally, I play matches in the front row for Keyworth RFC.

What do you do for fun?

I enjoy going out with my mates, either partying or to cinema. My motto in life is 'Work hard, play hard.'

Favourite TV show?

Match of the Day , Family Guy and Hollyoaks (it’s not just for the girls you know).
