Anti-doping Annual Report

This is the second annual report on anti-doping activity within rugby union in England. It provides a full account of the activities of the RFU and its anti-doping partners in a dedicated report.

A commitment to report publicly on anti-doping came partly as a component of the illicit drug programme that started in the 2010/2011 season.

The report includes details of how rugby union in England strives to combat doping through collaborative partnerships with the Rugby Players’ Association, Premiership Rugby, UK Anti-Doping and the International Rugby Board.

These testing numbers reveal that rugby union in England is one of the most tested sports in the UK andthat  Aviva Premiership and England players are some of the most tested in the world.

The RFU and its partners take anti-doping extremely seriously, something that is reflected in the level of investment in anti-doping in the game as a whole.

We can be cautiously optimistic, but never complacent, about the current position and look forward to continuing our work in this arena during this and subsequent seasons.
