Doping Case Studies

While rugby union has traditionally enjoyed a low incidence of doping and is rightly proud of its record as a relatively clean sport, there have been a few players who have committed anti-doping rule violations.

Below are some case studies of both international and domestic rugby players who have broken the anti-doping rules and been sanctioned accordingly.

The RFU hopes these case studies help the overwhelming majority of rugby players to continue to make responsible and informed choices, and serve as a warning to those players contemplating using prohibited substances that they will get caught.
