The England Sevens team is calling on fans to show their support and join them for a Monster weekend of fun and rugby at Twickenham Stadium for the Marriott London Sevens on May 10-11.

The 2014 HSBC Sevens World Series is well underway and tournaments have already taken place in Australia, Dubai, USA, New Zealand, Japan and Hong Kong. The Marriott London Sevens is the ninth and final tournament and promises to be full of excitement, drama, great rugby and plenty of monster shenanigans.

Each year the event has a fancy dress theme and in 2013 Safari proved to be the most successful to date. A record-breaking 113,000 supporters came through the gates to watch England finish third in the competition.

The Marriott London Sevens is a rugby experience like no other, allowing friends and family to enjoy an action-packed weekend and this year’s monster theme is guaranteed to bring a number of surprises. As well as the excitement on the pitch there will also be lots of activity off it with live music, entertainment and a big screen and stage in the West Fan Village at Twickenham.

The winners of both the Marriott London Sevens and the HSBC Sevens World Series will be crowned on the Sunday, which is also the family day with face painters, balloon artists and a specific rugby activity zone for little monsters.

Tom Mitchell, rising star of the England Sevens, is encouraging all fans to release the monster within and go wild with support: “The whole squad is really excited about the monster theme this year. We always look forward to seeing the costumes that supports come up with!

“Having Twickenham transformed into Monster City will add to the incredible atmosphere created by our fans. With the amazing support we receive at home, we hope to better our third place finish from last year.”

The England team would love to hear how you are gearing up for the event through the Facebook page www.facebook.com/londonsevens, the hub for all team videos and news. You can also join the conversation at #London7s.
