Tours can become legendary, and not just because of the rugby…

"I said to the (hotel) manager, ‘This is supposed to be a five-star hotel and there’s a bloody hole in the roof!’ He turned around and said, ‘That’s where you can see the five stars from.'" (Gordon Brown while on tour with the Lions in the 1970s).

We looked at the history of foreign touring, from the very first ‘missionary’ tours, spreading the rugby gospel, right through to the present day.
