Brian Moore is England’s most capped hooker.
His 64 international appearances embraced no fewer than 10 confrontations with the French. Moore used to make a point of getting into their faces, knowing that if they lost their temper, they would inevitably lose control of the game. This the French frequently did, most famously in 1992 when England were well along the path to winning their second Grand Slam.
In all Moore participated in all three of England’s Grand Slam successes in the 1990s, retiring after the 1995 Rugby World Cup, the year of the third Slam.
