George Nepia was one of the all-time great players and his country’s finest full back.
This outstanding man played in all 30 matches on the 1924 tour of Britain and Ireland, making his international debut, aged 19, in the opening Test against Ireland. The tourists did not lose a match and earned themselves the title of The Invincibles.
Nepia won just nine international caps, but made 46 appearances for the All Blacks, 38 of them in succession, a record.
