In 1991 Nick Farr-Jones became the first Australian to lift the Webb-Ellis trophy, and many still regard him as Australia’s greatest ever captain.

Farr-Jones won a total of 63 caps, and was captain in 36 of them, leading the Wallabies to 23 victories. An incisive and powerful scrum half, as well as a born leader; Farr-Jones formed a famous partnership with Michael Lynagh, playing together in 47 games.

Farr-Jones made his debut on the 1984 Grand Slam tour of Britain and Ireland and retired in 1993, having helped Australia to the very top of the rugby tree.
