The 2014/15 calendar below sets out the nationally established programmes for each age group. Individual CB and County programmes will be added at a local level and will be available on respective County Union websites.

The calendar is in the form of a spreadsheet, is downloadable and is designed to be a useable document for schools and club.

It is essential that the RFU Structured Season Handbook is read and adhered to.

Important notice: The Blueprint Roadshows completed their tour of the country in December 2013. The major aims of the roadshow are set out below. The findings of the roadshow are expected in early spring. Although major changes to the YSS are not anticipated for September 2014, some changes may be made and therefore this calendar should be seen as a provisional framework until further notice.

Aims of the Blueprint Roadshow

  • The prospect of creating a long-term blueprint for rugby union at ages 18 and under is exciting. We already have many of the ingredients, we just need to piece them together most appropriately
  • The game format, playing opportunity and support should be clear, accessible and based on the needs and wants of children and young people, rather than on tradition or what adults think
  • This will ensure that more young people start and maintain a lifelong friendship with rugby union, strengthening our clubs and growing the game in the communities around them
