Famous names in Midlands Under 16 Final Trial

  • Lawes, Umaga and Grayson to play at Leicester Grammar School
  • Last chance for Midlands youngsters to impress Divisional selectors

Three members of famous rugby families will be involved in the Midlands Under 16 Final Trial at Leicester GS on Sunday, December 15.

Cameron Lawes of Duston School, Northampton Old Scouts and East Midlands is the younger brother of England and Northampton Saints lock Courtney. Like his brother, Cameron can play at lock or in the back row.

Leicestershire centre Jacob Umaga is the son of Mike Umaga, who played international rugby for Samoa and who is now coaching National Two North club Stourbridge.

James Grayson of East Midlands is the son of Paul Grayson, the former England and Northampton Saints fly half.

Also invited to the trial is Tosin Segun of East Midlands, whose elder brother Rotimi played for England Under 16s last season.

All have been included in the final trial after impressing during the recent programme of county matches during which every player was watched by a Midlands selector.
